"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
-Winston Churchill
"KEY CLUB is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership." This is the mission statement from http://www.keyclub.org. It's a very true sentiment, but to the members in Guilderland High School, Key Club means so much more. It's a place to meet new people, do something to make a difference while having fun, and a place where you can find your voice. It's a group of people devoted to serving something greater than themselves. Most importantly, it's a family.
YOU MAY be wondering how joining Key Club can help you 'find your voice' or 'make a difference.' To be honest, I think most of us were curious about that before we joined. Winston Churchill seemed to have the answer to that; by participating in the volunteer opportunities that Key Club offers, you not only help to improve the quality of life for others, but the quality of life in which you live. Helping out is empowering, as well as inspirational to those around you.
KEY CLUB meets in the Library Classroom after school on every Thursday, unless instructed otherwise via the announcements.
